Part of an ongoing grassroots effort to stimulate debate and create support for more affordable housing in the town of Stratford, Connecticut, The Stratford Beacon uses satire and humor to lampoon backwards attitudes and outright defiance of state housing law.
The continued intransigence of the Mayor and her Republican administration is a matter of record, and the Beacon has utilized billboards, mailings and its Facebook page to shine light on the racism and xenophobia which underlies her exclusionary policies and the divisive rightwing politics she practices.
Our campaign resulted in the election defeat of Rich Fredette, one of the Mayor’s handpicked zoning board members in 2021.
